About Ann

I had always loved drawing and painting and was, as a child, encouraged by an artist grandfather and various teachers throughout school. Progression to Art College seemed inevitable. Having graduated from Kentish Art Colleges in Canterbury and Ravensbourne, Bromley, I married and travelled to East Africa, where I began teaching and illustrating.

The return to England was a time for raising three children and spending some years in social services, working with clients with special needs. In 1985, I was asked to teach colour, design and drawing skills to florists at Reaseheath College, Nantwich. The interest sparked in the florists led to me initiating an art course and these have snowballed ever since.

I am extremely proud of my keen, talented class participants. They are up for anything, take any strange seeming idea I throw at them, and challenge my ingenuity, judgement and experience. The Art Groups have had an exciting exhibitions of their work at the Lyceum Theatre, Crewe. The many successes they have achieved are an indication of the professional standard of their work. Many of the class have gone on to Art College. Many have exhibited in their own shows and work is frequently accepted for Open selected exhibitions such as the Three Counties, and Stoke Open. more...
